Tools

A couple of small tools I’ve built and use in my own teaching and research.

Statistical Power Calculator

Interactive teaching tool for study design.

Shows how power depends on effect size, outcome variance, and sample size, and how the three design levers trade off. Built for thesis students. Uses the exact noncentral t distribution and matches R’s power.t.test().

SNII Application Skill

Claude Code skill for SNII applications.

Helps researchers in Mexico prepare SNII applications. Invoked with /sni, it reads your CV, checks the official convocatoria and evaluation criteria, flags gaps, and organizes an evidence folder with a running checklist. Supports every level, Candidato/a through Investigador/a Emérito/a.
